Usmc or national guard?

hello im enlisted in the usmc now and im in the DEP program ive been in for about a year now. but im having second thoughts about going. like i was thinking of doing the national guard so i can get money and stay close and go to a real fulltime college and be able to dirt track race still. but my usmc recruiter said that it might take up to 8 months to get out and join another branch it took my sister 7 months to get out of the navy. so idk like that means i have to get a fulltime job and work and then come home and do the same stuff for 8 months. also that means i cant satrt college in the spring or race this coming year becuz i wont have the national guard money and i really dont feel like waiting 8 months but it might be worth it idk but i still want to be a Marine. please help should i just stay with the usmc or get out and do the guard and hold it out... please serious answers
